👉 LiDAR & other 3D sensing technologies are now starting to deliver value in plant phenotyping project. Either mounted on drones, attached to vehicles or fixed on industrial structures, these sensors are adding a highly valuable third dimension to crop images that offer unpercedented ways to dive deeper in the canopy structure.
🌱 It allows, at least, to understand better the behavior of each variety, to calculate plant height & mean height at the plot level, and to distinguish plant organs from the vegetation.
