👉 If you are breeding or testing products for drought tolerance, you probably need to evaluate the water stress level of your plants at given dates. Today’s there are several techniques that allow to do so. In any case, image analytics can help to take a deeper dive at the stomatal activity of each leaf to find out how the plant is using its available water, estimating the evapotranspiration rate in several conditions or assessing the water loss in combination to lysimetric information. Among many plant stress assessments that are accessible today, water stress is one of the main drivers of plant research today, and phenotyping data helps a lot to understand the plant behavior whithout having to go in the lab to study genetic markers, which is expensive and time-consuming.
